Poverty is one of the biggest, most pervasive, and most enduring issues facing humanity—one that affects every country on the planet. Since the beginning of civilization, people have been living in poverty.
While this has always been a crucial issue in the quest for a just and developed human world, world powers who believe that the only way forward is over other people’s heads have mostly ignored it or, in many cases, actively promoted it throughout history.
Global poverty continues to affect hundreds of millions of people, who also face discrimination, homelessness, starvation, and a host of other adversities that make life far more difficult than it needs to be for many of our fellow humans.
